Jason Corby Obituary

Jason M. Corby, 48, of Pottsville, formerly of Wadesville passed away at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, where he succumbed to his aggressive Multiple Myeloma on February 11, 2026.

He fought hard like the rock star that he was.

Jason was born in Pottsville on November 23, 1977.  He was the son of the late Paul T. Corby and Carol (Donit) Corby Williams.

He was of the Catholic Faith.  Jason was a 1996 Graduate of Pottsville Area High School.  He was employed at Tension Envelope, St. Clair.

Jason was a fun-loving son, brother, uncle, and an amazing friend to many throughout his 48 years of life.  He could make you laugh as soon as you would start talking to him.  As many know, he was a very well-polished musician, mastering how to play the guitar at a very young age.  On April 1, 1986 at the age of 8 years old, Jason's brother Paul took him to his first KISS concert at the Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, PA.  In Jason's own words- "This forever started my path into all things hard rock/metal."  The next 40 years of his life he dedicated to his talent of playing music with his guitars.  The passion he would play his guitars with lit up every stage he was on.  Jason rocked stages playing guitar and singing vocals for bands such as Searching for Gladys, The Uprising, Upper Cut, Cold Blood Creep, Seglock, Adrenalyn, Fatal Aggression, Social Coma, Magnakore, Codas Revenge, Overburn, Shark wit Freakin Lazer Beams, 20til8, The Beaten Path, and his most recent band, Push Up Brawl, to which he played his final show on November 7, 2025 at the Play Lounge Bar & Grill in Pottsville before his illness.

In addition to his parents, Jason is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Paul Corby, Jr., and Christopher Corby and a sister, Tracey Grabish.

Jason is survived by his sister, Veronica Kogoy, wife of Alan of Hanover Township, PA, nieces and nephews and his great-niece, Scarlett Smith, whom he loved very much.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the James H. Evans Funeral Home, Inc., St. Clair at 8PM with Deacon John Setlock, officiating.  Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6PM-8PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.  James H. Evans Funeral Home, Inc., St. Clair is entrusted with arrangements.

Jason will forever be missed by his family and his army of friends.

Rock on Jason.  Fly High and play for the angels now.
