Joan Gray Obituary

Joan L. Gray, 95, of St. Clair passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Green Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, Pottsville.  She was born on May 15, 1929 in St. Clair.  Joan was the 

daughter of the late Richard Gray and Grace (Crawshaw) Gray.  

Joan was a member of the St. Clair Wade United Methodist Church, where she was former treasurer of the Chum-Me class and the oldest member of the congregation.  She was a graduate of 

St. Clair High School.  Joan worked as a secretary for Reading Anthracite.  She was a member of the St. Clair Women's Club.  Joan was past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star former 

Kalmia Chapter #261 and was currently a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Orwigsburg Chapter #424.  She was a member of the St. Clair Historical Society and the Schuylkill County 

Historical Society.  Joan loved to travel.  

In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by 4 sisters, Martha Jones, Florence Gray, Muriel Wolfgang, Lois A. Gray and a brother, Richard Gray.  She was the last member of her 

immediate family.  

Joan is survived by her nephew, Richard G. Jones, husband of Janet of St. Clair, her niece, Carol Ann Homovich, wife of John of St. Clair, her niece, Diane Hartline, wife of Russ of Douglasville,

and her nephew, Glen Gray of Pottstown.  

A Religious Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the St. Clair Wade United Methodist Church at 11AM with Rev. Jack Murray, officiating.  Relatives and friends are invited to call 

from 9:30AM to 11AM at the church.  An Eastern Star service will also be held on Friday morning at the church.  Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, St. Clair.
