Laverne M. (Chambers) Herbst

Laverne M. Herbst, 89, of Frackville passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Schuylkill East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.  She was born in Pottsville on July 5, 1934.

Laverne was the daughter of the late Edward Chambers and Isabelle (Cook) Chambers. 

Laverne was a member of the former Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wadesville.  

In addition to her parents, Laverne is preceded in death by her husband, Joel D. Herbst, who passed away in 1966.  She is also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph "Sonny" Chambers. 

Laverne is survived by her son, David J. Herbst of Frackville and her son, Mark R. Herbst, husband of Holly of Hummelstown.

A Religious Service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the James H. Evans Funeral Home, Inc., St. Clair at 11AM with Rev. Jack Culbert, officiating.  Relatives and friends are invited 

to call from 10AM to 11AM Friday morning at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.  James H. Evans Funeral Home, Inc., St. Clair is entrusted 

with arrangements.
