Michael Eugene Kosick, 90, of Pottsville, peacefully passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, at Orwigsburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A lifelong resident of Pottsville he was born March 13, 1936. Michael was the son of the late John A. Kosick and Laura May (Eisenhauer) Kosick.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Annemarie (Cutler) Kosick. He was of the practicing Catholic faith.
Upon his graduation from Pottsville High School in 1954 he proudly served in the US Army as a technician on the Nike Ajax and Hercules missile platforms and was honorably discharged with a rank of sergeant in 1963. Upon returning from service, he was employed at the former Acme Markets until his retirement in 1990. Michael was one of the founding members of the Gear Grinders Hot Rod Association and remained a lifelong automotive enthusiast.
Michael is survived by his son, Michael G. Kosick, Pottsville, a great-granddaughter, McKenzie Kosick, Pottsville siblings Virginia Barket, Sandra Kalyan and John C. Kosick as well as sister Michelle, Lebanon, Pa.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 11, at James H. Evans Funeral Home, Inc., St. Clair. Friends are invited to pay respects between 9am and 11am at the funeral home. A short officiated memorial service following visitation will conclude the ceremony. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery interment will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family.
